Effective April 22, 2022, Energy Assistance applicants can now apply online using the following link: ct.gov/heatinghelp/applyonline

For your information, below are some Frequently Asked Questions specific to the online application process.

Q: How do I apply online?

A: Visit ct.gov/heatinghelp/applyonline to get started.

Q: I’m not sure if I have time to complete my application right now. Can I save my application and come back later?

A: In Release 1.0, you cannot ‘save’ your application and return later. We are working on building a log-in page that will enable this feature right now. In the meantime, we ask that you review the ‘Before You Start’ information on the application homepage to ensure you are ready to complete your application and have all of the documentation you need before you get started.

Q: I uploaded my documentation (paystubs, bills) to the application and clicked ‘Done’ on the pop-up window, but I don’t see my documents. Did they upload?

A: If you clicked ‘Upload’, selected your document(s), saw the upload bar fill, and clicked the blue ‘Done’ box to close the pop-up, you are all set. You can click ‘Next’ to proceed: your documents have been uploaded. We are working on building a feature for Release 1.1 that will allow you to see your documents when they upload.

Q: I submitted my online application last week, and I haven’t heard anything. Is something wrong?

A: As shared when you submitted your application, you will receive a letter at the mailing address you provided within 45 days telling you if you are eligible and, if you are eligible, about the benefits you will receive. We may also ask for additional information. In the meantime, your local Community Action Agency is processing your application and confirming your eligibility.
