Important Information for Energy Applicants (Connecticut Energy Assistance Program) (CEAP)

While energy assistance began taking applications on August 2, below are additional significant dates :

Nov. 1,2021 First day for fuel deliveries that can be paid by the program
May 2, 2022 Deadline for fuel authorizations
May 31,2022 Last day to apply for energy assistance

Below are some of the Many changes that have been made this year in order to simplify the process

*Asset test has been eliminated
*Applicants can be determined categorically eligible if anyone in the household receives DSS cash assistance, SSI, or SNAP
*Those living where their heat is included in rent do not need to pay over 30% of your income to qualify for a renters check
*Applicants can provide income verification from a period of 4 consecutive weeks within the 3 months prior to the application date to add more flexibility for obtaining pay stubs
