Emergency shelter services are provided to single men, single women, and families with children, who without this program would be residing on the street. Seventy beds have been allocated for the Emergency Shelter Services. Services provided include housing, coordination of community service, employment assistance, vocational training, medical referrals, counseling, substance abuse treatment/referral and recreational activities.
The residency will be based on the individual achieving specific outcome measures. The case management services are provided by case managers and referred to collateral services for supplemental services. An evening meal is provided. Workshops, counseling sessions, and AA/NA/CA meetings are held on-site at the shelter. Access for residency is coordinated thru 211 The Hospitality Center at New Beginnings serves non-shelter guest families and Individuals in the community who are homeless or living in poverty. At New Beginnings they will be able to take a hot shower, do laundry, use a computer, make phone calls, collect mail, a cooling area for hot summer days, refreshments and light snacks Monday through Friday, and enjoy a brief respite from daily struggles.
