New Opportunities to Host Mayors For Meals Day on March 20

Tuesday, February 19, 2013
Waterbury, CT

Elected officials are invited to help raise awareness about the issue of senior hunger by participating in Mayors for Meals Day, a component of the National March For Meals campaign. On March 20, 2013 mayors and other elected officials across the country will show their support for the Meals on Wheels program in their city by delivering meals to seniors.

March For Meals is a national campaign held during the month of March, initiated by Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA), which seeks to raise awareness of senior hunger and to encourage action on the part of the local community. In March 2012 over 1,500 mayors and other elected officials delivered meals on Mayors For Meals Day.

By joining in this initiative your strong voice in the community will help gain much needed visibility for this cause. Simply complete the Mayors For Meals commitment form to verify your participation on March 20th.
